LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar was higher against other major currencies in European trading Thursday. Gold prices rose.
The euro traded at $1.3109, down from $1.3143 late Wednesday in New York. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro fetched $1.3135.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Wednesday, included 121.40 Japanese yen, up from $120.88; 1.2418 Swiss francs, up from $1.2373; and 1.1612 Canadian dollars, up from $1.1605.
