TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Lightning coach John Tortorella took the blame for a one-sided loss. He also had some harsh words for the officials. Brad Boyes had two goals and Tim Thomas made 24 saves, leading the surging Boston Bruins past Tampa Bay 6-2 Friday night.
The Southeast Division-leading Lightning not only lost for just the fifth time in 21 games, enforcer Andre Roy was given an automatic three-game suspension for abusing the officials when he made a gesture after departing the penalty box at the game's conclusion.
"It's on my shoulders," Tortorella said of the loss. "Some bad decisions by the coach. The way that team has played. The way they fought. The responsibility falls on my shoulders."
