 HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Angel McCoughtry scored 15 points and Jazz Covington added 11 to lead No. 20 Louisville to a 68-54 win over St. John's in Saturday's opening game of the Big East tournament.
The fifth-seeded Cardinals (25-6) never trailed and used a 12-1 run midway through the first half to break open a close game and take a 26-10 lead.
Helen Johnson added 10 for Louisville. She hit three of her first five shots from behind the arc and Louisville led 39-27 at halftime.
