(AP) - Louisville's reserves were ready when Big East player of the year Angel McCoughtry struggled. McCoughtry had 15 points and the 20th-ranked Cardinals' subs dominated their counterparts in a 68-54 victory over St. John's on Saturday in the Big East tournament.

McCoughtry scored the team's first five points, but spent much of the game in foul trouble, and played just 24 minutes. Louisville's subs outscored St. John's reserves 28-0.

"This team believes that they can win without Angel," coach Tom Collen said. "I think they are a little bit more poised now than they were at the beginning of the year. When she used to get into foul trouble, they panicked a bit when they saw leads slipping away."
