INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Jessica Davenport scored a season-high 32 points, including all seven of Ohio State's points in overtime, to rally the No. 5 Buckeyes to a 73-71 victory over fifth-seeded Penn State in the Big Ten tournament semifinals Sunday.
Star Allen added 12 points and Marscilla Packer provided an inspirational lift with nine points in a surprise return from a sprained left ankle. Packer left Friday's quarterfinal victory twice and wasn't expected to play Sunday.
Ohio State (28-2) has won 21 of 22 and 34 of its last 35 against Big Ten foes. The Buckeyes, the three-time regular-season champs, now have a chance to defend last year's tournament title Monday night against No. 15 Purdue. The Boilermakers (27-5) defeated No. 22 Michigan State 64-61 in Sunday's other semifinal.
