LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar was higher against other major currencies in European trading Thursday. Gold prices also rose.
The euro traded at $1.3118, down from $1.3182 late Wednesday in New York. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro fetched $1.3127.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Wednesday, included 117.42 Japanese yen, up from 116.36; 1.2292 Swiss francs, up from 1.2170; and 1.1813 Canadian dollars, up from 1.1781.
