PERTH, Australia (AP) - Residents on Australia's northwest coast braced for a second cyclone Saturday as emergency crews mopped up after a storm that killed two people and injured at least two dozen others.
Cyclone George, packing sustained winds of 121 mph and much stronger gusts, also damaged property and cut power and phone lines to at least three towns, authorities said.
The storm destroyed a remote Wadgina mining camp to the south of Port Hedland, about 1,025 miles north of Perth late Thursday. Police spokesman Ian Hasleby said on person died and about two dozen were injured at the site.
