TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - All Filip Kuba had to do was get his stick on the puck. Kuba tapped in Eric Perrin's perfectly placed pass 55 seconds into overtime Tuesday night, and the Tampa Bay Lightning stopped a three-game losing streak with a 4-3 victory over the New York Islanders.
"I kind of thought it was going to be 3-on-2, so I was driving hard to the net. I was hoping the puck was going to get to me," Kuba said. "Eric made a great pass. I just had my stick on the ice, and he hit it right on it."
Vincent Lecavalier tallied his 49th goal of the season and Kuba delivered his winner on the first shot of the extra period against goalie Rick DiPietro, who made his first start in a week after missing most of three games because of injuries sustained in a mid-ice collision with Montreal's Steve Begin.
