CALGARY, Alberta (AP) - Dominik Hasek's attempt to draw a penalty backfired in a big way. With the Detroit goalie on his back, Kristian Huselius fired in his 31st goal, snapping a tie and sending the Calgary Flames toward a 2-1 victory over the Red Wings on Tuesday night.
The winner came with 2:26 left in the second period when Calgary was on its fifth consecutive power play.
Dion Phaneuf fired a slap shot high and wide, and Jarome Iginla nudged Hasek while battling for position in front of the Red Wings net. Hasek emphatically threw his head and body backward to embellish the contact.
