 TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Martin St. Louis had been stuck on 39 goals for eight games. His streak-busting effort helped Tampa Bay win a key game.
St. Louis scored twice in the third period and Marc Denis made 34 saves overall to lead the Lightning past the New Jersey Devils 3-1 on Thursday night.
"He was pressing a little bit," Tampa Bay coach John Tortorella said. "Give him credit. He puts a lot of pressure on himself. I think he fought through it. Two huge goals in the third period."
