GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Though he lost the shutout in the final minutes, Curtis Joseph will settle for a satisfying victory over a Stanley Cup contender. Joseph stopped 23 shots and led the Phoenix Coyotes to a 2-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night.
"It's OK, we'll take the win," Joseph said of losing the shutout in the final 2 1/2 minutes. "They are a dangerous team and they can turn it up as good as anybody."
The Ducks drew close in the final minutes. That's when Travis Moen brought Anaheim to within 2-1 when he scored at 17:27 of the final session. The Coyotes then held off the surging Ducks to record their second win in 11 games.
