Monday, April 09, 2007 10:50:27 PM
By DERRICK HO

SINGAPORE (AP) - The yearly salaries of Singapore's well-paid government ministers are headed higher — by 60 percent to more than $1.25 million by the end of 2008, officials said Monday.

Defense Minister Teo Chee Hean told Parliament that the increase would come in two steps: to $1.06 million by the end of this year and to $1.27 million by the end of 2008.

The increases represent a raise of about 60 percent over current yearly ministerial income of $790,000.
