WASHINGTON (AP) - Lawyers for prisoners at Guantanamo Bay asked Chief Justice John Roberts on Wednesday to prevent the detainees' cases from being thrown out of court.
The detainees are seeking to challenge their confinement.
Last Thursday, the Justice Department asked the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., to dismiss the detainee cases and dissolve an order that authorizes lawyers to visit the prisoners.
