LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar rose against other major currencies in late European trading Thursday. Gold was down.
The euro traded at $1.3603, down from $1.3636 late Wednesday in New York. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro fetched $1.3591.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Wednesday, included 119.36 Japanese yen, up from 118.71; 1.2074 Swiss francs, up from 1.2046; and 1.1212 Canadian dollars, up from 1.1151.
