SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) - Two detainees at the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay an Afghan and a Moroccan have been transferred to the custody of their native countries, authorities said Thursday.
The men were flown out of the U.S. Naval base in southeastern Cuba on Tuesday, according to Guantanamo spokesman Navy Cmdr. Rick Haupt.
They were allowed to leave after a military review of whether the prisoners have intelligence value or pose a threat to the United States. The military does not provide details about individual cases.
