LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The head of the Little Rock school system sued the board president and a board member Monday, accusing them of threatening employees who might have testified on his behalf at an upcoming disciplinary hearing.
Roy Brooks' lawsuit against President Katherine Mitchell and Robert M. Daugherty comes after a school board voted along racial lines last week to suspend his contract amid efforts to remove him from the $198,000-a-year job.Macro running ...
Brooks, who is black, has support from the board's white members. Black members, including Daugherty and Mitchell, have pushed for his dismissal. Mitchell has said Brooks worked on draft state legislation without approval, encouraged some teachers to leave their union and has avoided parents of black students.
