CABOT, Ark. (AP) - A former police chief and his wife convicted of running a criminal organization dealing in drugs and jewelry were ordered jailed pending their appeals after they tested positive painkillers and cocaine, a judge ruled Tuesday.
Former Lonoke Police Chief Jay Campbell and his wife, Kelly Campbell, were to be released on bond if they passed drug tests taken immediately after their sentencing.
Jay Campbell tested positive for the painkiller hydrocodone, prosecutor Lona McCastlain said. Kelly Campbell tested positive for the tranquilizer benzodiazepine, cocaine, methamphetamine and opiates, McCastlain said.
