LOS ANGELES (AP) - As a child actor, Jon Peters rode a donkey in the 1956 film "The Ten Commandments." This week, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with a donkey at his side.
"This is kind of embarrassing but I am proud to be here," Peters said Tuesday during a ceremony in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre. "I started my career when I was 8 and recently kicked out of elementary school. ... It's been an amazing journey. Thank you."
As a Beverly Hills hairstylist with a celebrity clientele during the 1970s, Peters inspired the character portrayed by Warren Beatty in 1975's "Shampoo."
