LAS VEGAS (AP) - MGM Mirage Inc., the world's second-largest casino company, has settled two federal complaints over the Americans with Disabilities Act by agreeing to a fine and promising to make several hotels more accessible to guests with special needs.
"This is one of those situations where good law is good business," Wan J. Kim, assistant U.S. attorney general for civil rights, said Wednesday.
At a news conference at an MGM Mirage property in Las Vegas, Kim cited Labor Department estimates that 50 million disabled Americans have $175 billion in discretionary spending.
