CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) - Venezuela will service its foreign debt despite its decision to withdraw from the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, the government said Wednesday.
"This does not affect, in any way, the payment of foreign obligations," Finance Minister Rodrigo Cabezas said in a statement.
President Hugo Chavez said Monday that Venezuela was pulling out of the IMF and the World Bank.
