RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A former state lottery commissioner was sentenced to four years in prison Monday for not disclosing his work for a supplier of scratch-off lottery tickets.
Kevin Geddings' prison term is seven months longer than the maximum recommended under federal sentencing guidelines because his actions reduced public confidence in the lottery, U.S. District Court Judge James Dever III said.
"The defendant repeatedly lost sight of this oath during his service," Dever said.
