NEW YORK (AP) - Sharp price increases for corn, soybeans and wheat stole the spotlight in Friday's commodities futures trading.
Concerns about tight stocks triggered yet another climb in the grain prices that have been troublesome recently for for food companies. Kellogg Co., for example, has raised the prices of some of its cereals and frozen waffles in recent months amid higher costs for corn, wheat and other commodities.
On the Chicago Board of Trade Friday, heavy buying of grain futures followed the U.S. Department of Agriculture's May supply/demand report.
