NEW YORK (AP) - The dollar moved slightly lower Monday against the euro, which strengthened on positive news about manufacturing activity in nations that use the European currency.
The 13-nation euro bought $1.3541 in late New York trading, up from $1.3529 in New York late Friday. That was still more than a penny short of its all time-high, set last month, of $1.3682.
The dollar was stronger, though, against the British pound, which slipped to $1.9732 from $1.9824 late Friday. The dollar also rose to 120.29 Japanese yen from 120.13 yen; 1.2189 Canadian dollars from 1.1123; and 1.2189 Swiss francs from 1.2184.
