BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A young mother was accused Friday of killing her twin 6-year-old sons, possibly strangling them, police said.
The boys were found at home in bed with their mother Friday morning after the woman's sister called police to say she had threatened to kill them and herself, said Cpl. L'Jean McKneely, a Baton Rouge police spokesman.
The boys were pronounced dead and the 30-year-old woman, who had apparently taken pills, was being treated at a hospital, McKneely said. She was in stable condition Friday and had not yet been arrested, he said. Police did not immediately release her name.
