ABUJA, Nigeria (AP) - The opposition candidates in last month's presidential election filed lawsuits Tuesday seeking an annulment of the vote on the grounds it was flawed.
The top two runners-up claim the April 21 vote was rigged by President Olusegun Obasanjo's ruling party in favor of its candidate, Umaru Yar'Adua. The suits, which were filed in a court in the capital Abuja, demand a revote.
Yar-Adua won the election and is scheduled to take office on May 29. A ruling in the case is not likely before then.
