RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - MySpace.com has handed over information about 245 registered North Carolina sex offenders found on the social networking site, Attorney General Roy Cooper said Wednesday.
The data is being shared with the State Bureau of Investigation and probation officials, who will look for possible violations by sex offenders, according to Cooper's office. About 7,000 profiles were removed from the site nationally.
"This information gives law enforcement another way to learn about predators who could have easy access to children," Cooper said in a written statement.
