LOS ANGELES (AP) - Prosecutors declined Friday to charge Ryan O'Neal for firing what the actor called a warning shot during a brawl with his son this year.
Witnesses to the Feb. 3 shooting at O'Neal's home in Malibu which injured no one gave conflicting accounts to authorities, said Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the district attorney's office. That left insufficient evidence to prove the case, she said.
"It's a tremendous relief for Mr. O'Neal to have this resolved favorably in this manner," said Mark Werksman, Ryan O'Neal's attorney.
