MEXICO CITY (AP) - Alan Clendenning, a Brazil-based business writer for The Associated Press, has been named AP's chief of bureau in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
He will direct news coverage in South America's largest nation, where AP has three offices, the AP's Latin America editor, Niko Price, announced Tuesday in Mexico City. Clendenning will succeed Harold Olmos, who retired in December.
Clendenning, 44, joined the AP in 1998 in New Orleans. He transferred to AP's business desk in New York, where he covered mergers and acquisitions, and was posted in 2002 to Sao Paulo.
