BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (AP) - William Oliveira had a goal and an assist to lead the Chicago Fire past the Columbus Crew 3-2 on Sunday.
Oliveira scored his first MLS goal on a free kick through a wall of players in the 61st minute, giving Chicago (3-4-2) a 2-1 lead and helping to snap a five-match winless streak.
The Fire took the lead in the 25th minute when Oliveira sent a corner kick into the box, and defender Jeff Curtin headed it behind Crew goal keeper Andy Gruenebaum for a 1-0 lead. The goal ended Chicago's 221-minute scoring drought.
