SEATTLE (AP) - With a bone bruise in his left index finger, Jose Vidro never thought he would play Monday night against the Baltimore Orioles.
But as the Mariners began to rally in the eighth inning, manager Mike Hargrove walked over and asked him two questions: Can he play? Can he hit?
Vidro said yes to both and he followed up with a game-tying pinch-hit single to begin the Mariners' two-out, four-run rally in a 7-4 victory.
