MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) - Emergency crews on Wednesday removed the last bodies of 11 passengers killed when their train was hit by a truck a day earlier on a rail crossing in southern Australia, police said.
Another two people who had purchased tickets and were thought to be trapped in the wreckage of two derailed carriages have been accounted for, Victoria state police spokeswoman Alison Noonan said Wednesday.
Families of victims held each other and wept as they inspected the scene for the first time late Wednesday as the last bodies were being removed, TV news footage showed.
