WASHINGTON (AP) - Jack Hayes, a World Meteorological Organization official, was named on Wednesday to lead the National Weather Service.
The appointment was announced by Conrad C. Lautenbacher, head of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, parent agency of the weather service.
"Jack Hayes brings more than 30 years experience in all areas of atmospheric science including six years with NOAA," Lautenbacher said.
