TORONTO (AP) - Colombian star Juan Pablo Angel scored two goals in 2 minutes midway through the second half Wednesday night to give the New York Red Bulls a 2-1 win over Toronto FC.
Those 2 minutes, before a sellout crowd of 20,113 at BMO Field, changed the face of a match that Toronto controlled for long portions. But as in recent Toronto home games, the visitors came on strong in the second half and eventually the pressure paid off.
Angel showed his class in the 69th minute, bending in a free kick from 25 yards that left goalkeeper Srdjan Djekanovic rooted to his spot. Toronto was unhappy at the call that produced the free kick when defender Andrew Boyens was penalized for blocking Jozy Altidore.
