PHOENIX (AP) - Everything is clicking for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Brandon Webb followed a strong outing by Randy Johnson with a gem of his own. Eric Byrnes made a great throw to save a run. Chris Young hit the big homer again.
One night after his game-ending shot in the 10th inning, Young broke a scoreless tie with a home run to center field leading off the seventh, lifting the surging Diamondbacks to a 1-0 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday.
Webb (6-3) matched his season high with four walks but still beat Matt Morris in a tight duel and won his third straight start. Webb struck out seven and allowed six hits in seven innings, keeping the Diamondbacks unbeaten at home in five games against San Francisco this season.
