MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - PepsiCo Inc., the nation's second biggest soft drink company, and an affiliated Midwest-based beverage bottler are paying $542 million for an 80 percent stake in a Ukraine-based juice company.
PepsiCo and Minneapolis-based PepsiAmericas Inc. said Thursday they will form a joint venture to buy the stake in Sandora LLC, which they said was the leading juice maker in the former Soviet bloc country.
The two companies expect to acquire the remaining 20 percent of Sandora in November.
