 CARSON, Calif. (AP) - Dennis Alas scored the winning goal in the 81st minute as El Salvador rallied for a 2-1 victory over Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday night in the opening round of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
El Salvador moved into a tie for first place in the Group B with the United States, which beat Guatemala 1-0 earlier. The teams have three points apiece.
Alas converted from 8 yards after teammate Jose Martinez took a shot that deflected off a Trinidad and Tobago defender.
