 DENVER (AP) - Garrett Atkins and Brad Hawpe hit back-to-back homers in the first and James Shields lost for the first time this season in Colorado's 12-2 win over Tampa Bay on Friday night.
It's the second straight night the Rockies have handed a pitcher their first loss of the season. Colorado beat Boston's Josh Beckett on Thursday night.
The Rockies hit back-to-back homers for the first time this season. Atkins' two-out, two-run homer to straightaway center was his sixth of the season. Hawpe followed with his 10th to almost the identical spot.
