PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The soft-tossing 44-year-old outpitched the hard-throwing rookie half his age. Jamie Moyer allowed two runs in seven sharp innings and Aaron Rowand homered and singled in the go-ahead run to lead the Philadelphia Phillies over the Detroit Tigers 6-3 on Saturday night.
Shane Victorino had three hits, including a solo homer, for the Phillies, who closed within two games of the NL East-leading New York Mets. They were 8 1/2 games behind just two weeks ago.
"It's nice to be in contention, but we're not going to stop. We want to be division leaders," Victorino said.
