MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota Twins center fielder Torii Hunter left Sunday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers with a bruised left hand after a pitch from Jeff Suppan hit him in the first inning.
He did not need X-rays and was listed as day-to-day, but wore a heavy wrap on his hand after the 10-9 victory over the Brewers and said that he planned to play on Monday against the New York Mets.
With a runner on third and two outs, Suppan's breaking ball got away from him and came in high and tight on Hunter, who tried to back away. But Hunter moved too late, and the pitch hit him on the hand.
