 DENVER (AP) - Joe Maddon called Carlos Pena's monster shot into the third deck at Coors Field "prodigious." The usually eloquent Pena couldn't come up with a better word than "blast." But Pena cried foul following Tampa Bay's 7-4 win over the Colorado Rockies on Sunday.
"He had time," Pena said with a grin, adding that his manager probably went on the computer and looked up the word prodigious.
Maddon definitely had time to think of the perfect word choice after being tossed from the game in the seventh inning by home-plate umpire Ted Barrett for arguing a checked swing call.
