CHICAGO (AP) - On a night the Chicago White Sox's moribund offense showed some punch and Jim Thome added to his career interleague home run lead, Jermaine Dye made two catches worthy of the highlight reels.
"Two great ones. That was the fuel of the game," Chicago manager Ozzie Guillen said after a 10-6 win over the Florida Marlins. "He saved a couple of runs. Maybe the game would have gone a different way."
Dye went to the right center field alley in the first inning, diving and stretching and laying out to grab Hanley Ramirez's line drive.
