 PHOENIX (AP) - Nine years after both teams were born, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays are still treating the Arizona Diamondbacks like an expansion club. Brendan Harris fell a double shy of the cycle and Jason Hammel earned his first career win as Tampa Bay defeated Arizona 10-2 on Monday night, giving the Devil Rays a 7-0 record against their 1998 expansion partners.
"It's just one of those anomaly things," Devil Rays manager Joe Maddon said. "Who knows why?"
On Monday night, it was easy to see why the Devil Rays extended their dominance of the Diamondbacks.
