 SEATTLE (AP) - Katie Smith had 23 points and Deanna Nolan scored 18 to lead the Detroit Shock to an 87-71 victory over the Seattle Storm on Wednesday night.
Nolan hit a 3-pointer with 3 minutes left in the third quarter to give the defending champion Shock (9-1) a 20-point lead.
Janell Burse had 21 points to lead the Storm (5-5), who fell behind 8-0 in the first 2 minutes of the game and never led.
