People walk past as they protest in the street against government price rises in Lagos, Nigeria, Wednesday, June 20, 2007. Nigeria's powerful labor unions launched a general strike Wednesday to protest government price hikes, leaving many schools and banks shuttered and normally bustling streets quieter in Africa's oil giant.(AP Photo/Sunday Alamba)LAGOS, Nigeria (AP) - A general strike called by unions seeking to overturn government price hikes moved into its second day on Thursday, with streets increasingly deserted across Africa's most-populous nation.
