Dollar Climbs Against Euro

Thursday, June 21, 2007 9:29:40 AM

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) - The dollar traded slightly higher against the euro Thursday, despite a report showing that U.S. jobless claims last week rose to their highest level in two months.

The 13-nation euro traded as low as $1.3370 during Thursday's session before recovering to $1.3397 in afternoon European trading. That was just below the $1.3400 it bought in New York late Wednesday.

The dollar lost some ground after the U.S. Labor Department reported that unemployment claims totaled 324,000 last week, up 10,000 from the week before and the highest level since mid-April.
