NEW YORK (AP) - Although the summer is supposed to be a slower time for many companies, small business owners often find themselves busy and stressed.
It can be hard to coordinate staff vacations with workloads that for some companies actually increase in the summer months. Many owners find that getting new business is harder because so many prospective clients and customers are away. And many are dealing with their own family and child care issues.
Randy Auslander, owner of Phil's TV, a store in Toledo, Ohio, contends with an annual dropoff in business that can cause a cash flow crunch.
