SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Ticha Penicheiro scored eight points in the final 2:07, and the Sacramento Monarchs held off the Detroit Shock for a 85-75 victory Saturday night in a rematch of the WNBA finals.
Scholanda Robinson scored a season-high 13 points and Rebekkah Brunson added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Monarchs (9-4), who hung on to a late lead with a surprising flurry of points from Penicheiro, their shooting-shy point guard.
Yolanda Griffith also scored 11 points for Sacramento, which lost its season opener in Detroit. The Monarchs split the season series with the Shock (10-2) in a lively meeting of the league's respective conference leaders again this season.
