Dollar Up Slightly Against Euro

Tuesday, June 26, 2007 10:57:46 AM

BERLIN (AP) - The dollar edged up against the euro Tuesday despite a disappointing round of U.S. economic data.

The 13-nation euro bought $1.3461 in afternoon European trading, down from $1.3466 in New York late Monday. The British pound, which briefly broke through $2 on Monday, rose slightly to $1.9989 from $1.9985.

The dollar declined to 123.05 yen from 123.62 yen after Japanese Finance Minister Koji Omi said he was "watching foreign exchange rate moves very closely" — a remark viewed as a sign that Japan is worried about a further decline in the yen.
