BERLIN (AP) - The dollar edged up against the euro again Wednesday amid mixed U.S. economic data as traders waited for the next Federal Reserve meeting to give the market direction.
The 13-country euro fell slightly to $1.3433 in morning trading in Europe, from $1.3456 Tuesday evening. The dollar also rose against the pound, which fell to $1.9942 from $1.9987.
Traders awaited the two-day meeting of the Fed's open market committee starting Wednesday, to be closely watched for its assessment of where the U.S. economy may be going. The Fed is not expected to raise its key interest rate of 5.25 percent.
