WASHINGTON (AP) - "Feeling nostalgic?" White House press secretary Tony Snow asked reporters Wednesday.
It was Snow's last briefing at a temporary newsroom before the White House press corps returns to its renovated quarters in the West Wing.
Over the last 10 months, the well-worn press area was stripped down to bare-brick walls and then rebuilt. Asbestos was removed from the ceiling, new air conditioning was installed and a concrete floor was laid to replace flooring over what was once an indoor swimming pool.
